How long have you been DJing?

About 15 years now

How did you start DJing?

Everyone i knew wanted to be in a band, that wasent good enough for me and after going to reading 96 and seeing Underworld live i knew it was all about the rave. I got some Soundlab belt drive’s shortly after and started buying tunes i liked plus some tunes with nice sleeves lol. After about 2 years of messing about on my own i figured out what mixing was and started playing Jungle then moved onto Big Beat  & Breaks

What type of music can we expect to you play?

Its mostly based around House, Techno & Breaks i guess. Minimal, Maximal, Fidget, Tech, Deep whatever really, I have also been a resident for the longest running Breakbeat night in the world Beatz & Bobz where i played the funkier & techier 4/4 style of breaks. And when im in Full Melt mode its all about the Nu Funk Party Mashups ETC. Music is Music

How did you get into this type of music?

From Discovering the rave i guess, alot of it started when my uncle let me borrow his copy of Exit Planet Dust when i was 14, then through the years going to loads of festivals and checking out as many dj’s as i could.  I think my love of house/techno started in 2000 after an epic Bugged Out weekender where i witnessed Carl Craig, Green Velvet, Richie, Slam, Timo Mass, Jon Carter, The Chems + Many more acs ripping it up all weekend and on a local tip the Deep Cartel party’s had alot to do with it aswell, grooving all night long.

What has been your most embarrassing DJing moment?

Fucking up a mix infront of 500 people warming up for the Plump Dj’s whilst being filmed and projected on the walls, that was quite special haha.  Taking the needle of the wrong record, not knowing what record was playing, not knowing my own name lol, so many really not that it ever matters

What has been your best DJing moment?

So many over the years, definately the first time i played a glasto, playing before A Guy Called Gerald to 3000 people was pretty special, and abit scary at the same time . Playing to a 700 capacity home crowd on my birthday a few years back was pretty special aswell, As was the night i brought Switch to Exeter, Good times were had by many that night (messy). Playing at the Glade last year was a big one aswell, especially after my mates missus decided to talk shit all night before meaning there was no way i was going to get any sleep haha.

Being involved with the dance tent at aeon is the ultimate though really, so much blood, sweat & tears has put into the festival in the last three years.  And it keeps getting better and better.

Who is your favourite artist?

Favourite artist? That is impossible to answer really so I will narrow it down to The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Rage Against The Machine, Carl Craig, Martyn, Eric B & Rakim, Break blah blah blah. Working in a record shop i hear new music all the time, so much good stuff out there at the moment and its still on vinyl!

What is you all time favourite album?

It has to be Exit Planet Dust by the Chemical Brothers, it changed my life and its where it all began. There are others but this is the Daddy.

Where do you shop for music?

Reform Records in Exeter, Maximum Party loves the Dubstep  and online at Juno
